Hi All!
What a week it's been. Vince and I celebrated our 24th anniversary. Don't laugh, we went to Denny's for breakfast! Had to work that day, so we couldn't go out to dinner, so we opted for breakfast! We got a few laughs out of it as we were sitting in the booth eating our eggs!
But, later in the week he sure surprised me. Bought me a new car! It's a beaut, and I love it. And truly, I was so surprised! We're not the "big present" kind of people, we just never could do that kind of thing. But the kids are growing, yikes, scary thought that! Wayne 18, Shannah 16 this summer, and Travis 14 this summer. So the need for another vehicle is certainly there.
Anyhow, guess my message is...Life is good. Am married to the greatest guy, would marry him again in a heartbeat, kids are wonderful (well, most of the time...they are kids afterall!), am sewing and having fun, and am Blessed with the best of friends! Life IS good, and I can't wait to see what happens each new day!

- Hi You all! My name is Karen. First I'd like to say that I've been truly blessed with my husband, Vince, for 23 years now, and with our three children, Wayne, Shannah and Travis. Vince has been in the military for 27 years, and as the kids are now all teenagers, I stay pretty darn busy! What's a (semi) modern Mom to do? When I'm not cooking, cleaning, playing taxi, etc., my greatest passion is quilting! My sister, Barbara, literally dragged me into a quilt shop about 11 years ago, firmly stating that I needed a hobby! What a journey that has been. It took me 3 hours to pick out the fabrics for my 1st quilt! Don't laugh, it's true! Yet, I loved every minute of it; I think it's the whole creative process. I've gone from barely being able to read a pattern to designing them. All in 11 years, told you I was quick! Without a doubt though, what I love most are the friendships I've formed with other quilters! We've shared alot; laughter and tears, joys and sorrows. So whether you are a long-time quilting buddie or a new one, I say Welcome! I hope we'll have the opportunity to share and learn alot from each other!

Sounds great but what kind of car did ya get?
Congratulations on your 24 years together! We just celebrated 23 a few weeks ago and the folks are celebrating 51 next week. Life IS good, isn't it? By the way, now we are all in suspense.... what KIND of car????
Congrats! Life is good... I think the whole breakfast thing is the way to go :-) but isn't nice when they suprise you too!!!
